At Dunes Dental Services, we practice conservative dentistry, which means that our goal is to preserve your natural tooth structure whenever possible.
However, in some situations it makes sense to extract a tooth or teeth. When decay or damage is extensive or a tooth is broken and root canal therapy is not possible, an extraction is often the best option. When a child has “baby teeth” that are blocking permanent teeth from erupting properly, it may be beneficial to extract the baby teeth to allow the permanent teeth to emerge in proper alignment. Wisdom teeth that have emerged and are causing pain or misalignment also often need to be extracted.
Whatever your situation, Dr. Alina will conduct a thorough exam and go over the options with you, including any alternative treatments that you can consider.
If you do move forward with a tooth extraction, you can feel confident that you are not only in capable hands but gentle hands as well. We also offer oral conscious sedation, which puts you in a pain-free, dreamlike state during the procedure.
