New Patients

Welcome to the Family!

Here at Dunes Dental Services, your first visit with us as a new patient is of the utmost importance. As a certified Kois trained dentist, Dr. Alina follows the protocol Dr. John C. Kois spent many years developing to aid in determining an individualized treatment plan for each patient.

Our initial examination appointment with you may take up to an hour and a half and involves a comprehensive clinical evaluation. It may also include x-rays, an initial diagnostic impression of your teeth, and digital photographs. We evaluate your needs and your risks based on the following:

  • Periodontal health (gum & bone)
  • Biomechanical considerations (existing tooth structure and previous dentistry)
  • Function (joint, bite and chewing)
  • Dentofacial characteristics (smile)

For patients without any immediate concerns or needs, we will establish a regular cleaning and exam schedule with you to keep your teeth and your overall wellness at its best. With proper care, your natural teeth can last your entire life.

For some patients, a follow-up appointment may be needed to discuss additional treatment options and determine what will work best for you, taking into account your current dental goals, your long-term prognosis, and your financial situation. Once the treatment needs have been established and a customized plan has been put into place for you, our office team will assist you in coordinating your appointments. We will also work closely with you to help facilitate any treatment with our trusted dental specialists, if and when referrals are made.

You’ll find that our dental practice is a warm, inviting place that patients return to for ongoing care. We want your appointments with us to be positive experiences, and we emphasize gentle care and communication to ensure that you are comfortable. If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to share those with us. We also offer oral conscious sedation for patients with dental anxiety or for patients in need of complex procedures. We look forward to taking care of your dental needs. Please contact us today to schedule an appointment.
